Oilseed crops are primarily grown for extraction of oils. But the seeds are also widely consumed across the world. They are tiny, crunchy seeds which add texture to the food. And most importantly bring loads of health benefits for us. They are tiny but they pack in a lot of punch both in terms of flavour and nutrition.

Indian cuisine uses oilseeds like sesame (til), faxseed (alsi), halim liberally but not many are aware of their health benefits.

With this series let us learn about the benefits of oilseeds, one seed per day.
